Modern Salon Feature

As a young hairstylist 10 years ago, (yes I said 10 years ago) I was the eager student who was always browsing all of the top Salon magazines. I was always reading up on the latest and greatest products as well as seeing who is making an impact in my industry. And if you would have asked me 10 years ago if I ever thought I would be featured in one, I would have told you that there was no way.

I got the most amazing opportunity to be interviewed by Modern Salon magazine last month and this is definitely a magazine I'm always scouring over. Above is the issue and my interview in a gorgeous frame. The article was done really well, and it was all about the balance of work and family life as a hairstylist.

Although the article made it seem like its hard to balance it all out, it is….but I feel with the flexibility of being a hairstylist at a booth rental salon is what's really key for my lifestyle at the moment. I've paid my dues years ago, have my own schedule now and it gives me lots of time with my kids, husband and of course my blog.

If you haven't gotten a chance to read the article, I would defiantly recommend picking one up. It was a beautiful write up and I'm still shocked and humbled that I got to be in it. So for all you young stylist out there, make sure to dream big because the opportunities are endless.
