The Confessions of A Hairstylist.com

You may have noticed that I have recently changed my URL from www.stylushhair.com to www.theconfessionsofahairstylist.com which I am thrilled about, but can't help but sit here and reflect on how my little Internet blog world began. I'm thrilled that I've kept up with it and I'm definitely not stopping anytime soon. It's funny how things work out sometimes and although I feel like what sometimes materializes organically from the many projects of mine, I know that it really goes back to my dedication and drive that I've always had. And I can honestly say that I'm very proud of that.

For my new viewers, I'm a professional hairdresser who has never been content with being the "typical' stylist and am always trying to find new ways to let my creative freedom flow. I've started my hair blogging journey about 11 months ago on a whim. I was bored, hair depressed and needed a challenge. I had a brief conversation with a client, umm......cough...cough......BETH, about how I wanted to change my hairstyle everyday for 30 days and put it on my facebook fan page because I needed a challenge. My lovely client Beth was actually the one that said I should blog about the 30 day challenge, so I did.

Now, at the beginning of this journey, it wasn't easy figuring out a blog name, let alone a freaking blogger account. I think I may have cried in frustration more than a few times. (And still do) I'm a flipping hair dresser not a Internet/graphic whiz. And, BTW...thank god I came across Melanie from My Billie Designs because she has been my blogger question, graphic answering goddess. Thanks Mel!

Anyways....back to my story, my 30 Day Hair Challenge went well so I went on with blogging and kinda became addicted to the whole thing. Yes, I may have horrible grammar, but what I am good at, is hair. I later started doing some fun hair tutorials for latest-hairstyles.com by taking pictures of myself with my Macbook Pro, while juggling all sorts of household duties and keeping quiet as my 1 1/2 year old was taking her naps. Some of my tutorials that I did for LH, did extremely well on Pinterest, and I've been continuing my relationship with their awesome hair site and producing hair tutorials ever since.

After only a few months of blogging, in Sept of 2012 to be exact, I found out that I was pregnant with my second child and due in May, 2013. What a blessing he is and will be, but I like to think of him as my little good luck charm, because in the short 11 months of blogging, I have been growing him for over 7 months of the time and have had some really awesome opportunities. And luckily for me, this little guy has been allowing me to have a tremendous amount of energy, so that this mama can get her work done.

I often laugh because with the numerous opportunities that have come up, which I can't reveal all of them just yet.... it's extremely funny with the timing of them all. I mean, I'm almost ready to pop and I'm squeezing into non maternity clothes for you all and bringing you some fun You Tube Hair tutorials for petes sake. It's funny how life works out, but I'm glad that everything is going the way it is. I can say that I'm truly blessed and honored that I'm able to share my passion with the rest of the world.

I'm of course going to continue my hair blogging, and sharing my passion with the world. Through my blog, I'm hoping that I have been reaching out and educating women who could really use the inspiration or hair help. I want everyone of my viewers to know how much I appreciate you, and I can't tell you how awesome it is just to get one or two people coming back to my blog, let alone those regulars that comeback and comment frequently. You know who you all are. ;) I also want to mention that I love growth, so if ever you have a hair question, suggestion or an idea you've been pondering, I'd love to hear it!

So, In honor of my URL "switch a roo" and my little time sitting here reflecting on the last 11 months, I'm posting all of my favorite hair tutorials that I've produced over the last 11 months. And, if you love any of my tutorials, feel free to pin away as the big "switch over" lost a lot of the connection in the big computer world out there, and unfortunately my hard work over the past months doesn't connect to my new URL.
