Natural Hair Remedy Time!!

Holy Moly guacamole. I don't know about you, but I love me some avocados. I love them so much, that my husband and I tried to grow an avocado tree from a seed. Yup, that is hard as heck to do BTW. The seed didn't even sprout. I totally felt like a dummy and figured, I should just stick to hairdressing.

At my house I always have an abundance of avocados.   Avocado's are loaded with yummy fatty acids, minerals and vitamins which is so good for you and your body. It was also my daughters first food, that's how much my household love, love, looovvves avocado!!

Now, that you know I love avocado, and its good for our bodies, but is it good for our hair??  Today, I decided to put it to the test. Now, I've done my research and it seems like a lot of people claim to use olive oil or honey along with this treatment, but to be honest with you, I didn't want to add anything along with the avocado because I wanted to strictly put avocados to the test. I mean, come on,we all know adding oils to your hair is most likely going to make it soft, maybe even greasy, so I wanted to grab an avocado, and see what it can do on its on.

I feel like my over processed, peroxide locks are perfect for these trial treatments because my hair is so dry, fine and could use all the help it can get. Now, lets get to the chase, all I did for this treatment was mash it up, and applied it in my hair after shampooing while I was in the shower. I combed it through my hair, mid-shaft down to my ends. I avoided my roots as I have naturally oily hair and I didn't want to over greasify it with the avocados natural oils. I Let it sit for 5 minutes to see if it would work it's magic. Can I just say, that this was a total bust! Boo! I know!

After I did this treatment in the shower, I noticed it didn't feel soft what so ever, so I actually had to use a conditioner afterwards. Maybe I should have used the olive oil after all.  My hair feels limp and unconditioned today. It looks so bad, I didn't even want to share a photo. This natural remedy didn't work out as well as the Coconut Oil Treatment or my Beer as a body builder product I put to the test a couple of months ago. So, sorry loves, avocado might be a super food for your body but not for your hair.

If you are just joining me, every first Friday of the Month, I put a natural haircare remedy to the test. So stay tuned for next month. Will you try this hair treatment? What are your thoughts on natural hair care remedies?
