Ask Jenny...how to get low volume hair?

Today is my "Ask Jenny" post. I just started doing this post a few weeks ago, I'm absolutely loving receiving emails and answering peoples hair questions.Believe it or not, it brings me lots of joy to help other females out there. Today's question is from a viewer named Mackenna Bailey from Ohio. This is what she wrote in:

So I have been seeing this for fall trend lately, Low Volume Hair

How do you achieve this and is it ideal for fine textured hair??

Mackenna, thank you so much for your question. This look is and has been very popular for awhile, which believe it or not is very easy to achieve. The low volume wave is very similar to the beach waves, but its has less volume. The key to achieve this ultra trendy wave, is to not curl or blow dry the hair close to your roots. If you do, it will just create volume and fullness.

Now, when you are trying to achieve this look, the product and curling technique are very important. Take large 2 to 3 inch sections working from the back of the neck to the top of the head with a large curling iron, preferably a 1 1/4inch size. Curl your hair clamping mid shaft of your hair, and work the rest of the hair through the barrel, but don't curl the last 2 inches of your hair so that you get the wave look. When you get to you top section, don't even think about getting close to your roots with the curling iron. That will only create volume, and obviously the look here is low to no volume. Finish it off with a spray wax or a pomade to get a little rough texture on the ends.

Mackenna, I really hope this helps you out!! Feel free to send me a picture of your results. I'd love to see it.
