This half-up look has been on the forefront of hair trends for quite some time now, but I love switching it up and making it my own. This classic style can really be take in so many directions and for such a variety of occasions by adding an accessory, making the top half into a bun, braid, or bow, throwing a bouncy curl or crimp in there - and just making it YOU! This style is perfect for drawing attention to the face without the struggle of that headache you get from wearing your hair in a high ponytail. Whether your hair is short, long, textured, straight or curly - you can add a little excitement to any Spring look with a half-up style!

Anyone who know me knows that I love a pop of color, and Spring is the perfect time to try it out. Now I know what you are thinking… You don’t want to manage the up-keep of a color or maybe you are even worried that your new hair color will not match your wardrobe choices. But here’s a secret for my fellow blondes out there: My daughter Magnolia and I love to pick out fun colored-conditioners so that they wash out easily and we can change the color whenever we want! If you have darker hair, my advice is still to GO FOR IT and soak up all of the Spring vibes! Color blocking is a huge trend right now, and a fun color for Spring would coordinated perfectly with all of the colorful pieces in your Spring wardrobe.

Whether it’s a ponytail, a braid variation, or a chignon, doubling up and creating two of these styles makes the vibe SO fun and youthful. On the left I created this double chignon style with some fringe out in the front to frame the face. I love this spin on a classic style and think that it would be complementary to any dreamy Spring outfit. Another way to spice up the look is by adding an accessory. Hats go perfectly with double braids or pigtails because you are still able to keep your hair visible in the front without having to wear it fully down. Running on unwashed hair from your workout this morning? Throw it into two pigtails with a hat, and you’ll look more put together than ever!
